I should have put the occasional cat in to throw people off.
For those going for the power razor achievement, I propose an alternate challenge (which I succeeded in) : to beat it without being hit once.
Here are some few tips:
Use magic to knock Tom back when the does a beard attack, this is helpful at corners where you can run away.
Hide under the platforms to know where bread is going to hit.
Without spoiling a big thing, later, corners will be useful
I understand the fact that you tried to leave the game as vague as possible to let the player to make sense of it, but how the idea was executed it seemed that you just threw some words together.
Also this isn't what surreal is about.
The surreal tag couldn't be less accurate. This is the epitome of what Surrealism stands for, the dilemmas of religion, and the deep secrets of inner personality and psychology. Hats off to you and I hope that more aspiring developers follow your example.
Thank you Smith! :D I was actually very scared should I publish Antumbra anywhere. Surreal theme, to this degree is not a very common or trendy thing. Its as far from the mainstream as possible. And people fear the non-mainstream. Players and developer alike. And as a player, I miss those sort of games. When you browse through Steam or GOG or any other games portal, you start to notice that pretty much all there is - are clones, sequels, prequels and reskins. Its very hard to to find "something else". Because "something else" is a niche thing. Like Roguelikes, like text games. Those do not gain a lot popularity in eyes of masses. That's why I find unbelievable that Antumbra, being as niche as its possible - found such a huge audience and gained so much fame. I was prepared that maybe a guy or two will come over here, to write me a review. But right now - I stare at the "21 pages" of reviews, and I stand in awe.
And guess what is the #1 game on IndieDB right now?

From the very morning I cannot find a way to close my jaws. And my mind blew long time ago already.
pressing a button opposite to the direction you are going (ex. pressing left while going to the right) makes you to lose
Yes, the Nokia version also has that which is why I left it in as a feature rather than a bug. There are a few design choices I wouldn't have made but did because it's a "clone"
wow..you really came along a long way
Thank you and definitely. I hope in another 6 years I'll be able to say the same thing.. :)
WATERMELON DAY!
